I served as a U.S. Army Medical Service Corps officer during the post-9/11 era, balancing the demands of combat operations and healthcare administration. My work ranged from leading soldiers in Afghanistan to modernizing medical record systems at home.
Systems & Compliance Expertise
I combined legal, regulatory, and technical expertise to modernize healthcare delivery systems. I developed proposals for a Closed Medical Records System, produced compliance reports and variance analyses, and briefed executive staff and regional commanders on operational, financial, and clinical data.
Field Leadership
I served as a U.S. Army Medical Service Corps officer during the post-9/11 era, where I directed emergency medical planning and combat lifesaver training for over 650 soldiers in preparation for Operation Enduring Freedom. These efforts reduced the number of medically non-deployable soldiers and earned recognition from battalion and division commanders for operational efficiency.
Healthcare Administration
At Fort Drum, I led patient administration for an ambulatory care center serving 42,000+ beneficiaries across New York and New England. As Chief of Patient Administration, I managed medical records, third-party collections, and medical evaluation boards while ensuring compliance with HIPAA, FOIA, Joint Commission, and AAAHC standards. I also guided the transition to electronic medical records (CHCS II) and served as alternate Privacy Officer, conducting HIPAA investigations.
Command Support
Beyond medical leadership, I served as Company Executive Officer, stepping into command when needed. I oversaw weapons qualifications, maintenance operations, and load planning to ensure unit readiness. These dual roles—combat-tested leadership and systemic healthcare administration—taught me how to lead under pressure, manage complex data systems, and align operations with both mission readiness and long-term resilience.
